Posted on March 31st, 2009 No comments
Yessire!
We’re happy to announce that ticket sales now are open, and with a capacity of 350 people, you shouldn’t wait too long before you get your festival pass at www.billettservice.no . The price is NOK 500.
Why should you attend? Besides the great party, here’s five damned good reasons!
OMEN (US)
Kenny Powell and his legendary OMEN is considered one of the godfathers of US Metal. With thousands of gigs, but none in Norway, we’re looking forward to that moment when we’re all singing “Death Rider”.
MySpaceSLOUGH FEG (US)
(The Lord Weird) SLOUGH FEG we’ve already given you the key notes on, but make sure you get familiar with the heavy metal brilliants before january.
Official website
MySpaceNECRONOMICON (GER)
The german book of death is once again opened, and its most thrashy parts you’ll read in Oslo! This is a treat.
Official website
MySpaceTHE LAMP OF THOTH (UK)
Probably our youngest starter in 2010, nonetheless with the quality and sound of ages melted together. Imagine Cathedral doing theatre with the help of Lamented Souls. This is what you get. Weird, funny and GREAT doom metal.
MySpaceSOLITAIRE (FI)
We started a speed metal ball this year with Beehler and Enforcer, and we loved it. Therefore we decided to look to the speed metal desert of Finland, and invite the awesome SOLITAIRE. This is gonna be kickass on stage! Be there!

One band announcement and date for ticket sales!
Posted on March 19th, 2009 3 commentsGreetings!
Hope you all enjoyed the first edition of METAL MERCHANTS FESTIVAL, we can assure you that we did!
Time has come to start planning for 2010′s edition, set to take place at John Dee in Oslo on january 29th and 30th of 2010. John Dee is located in central Oslo, a decision we took based on the fact that Kanonhallen unfortunately seemed a little complicated to find. Besides, John Dee is a great and extremely professional venue, with a small capacity of 350 people. So make sure to get your tickets early, this one’s gonna be full! Ticket sales starts on april 1st, through www.billettservice.no. The price for the weekend ticket will be NOK 500,–.
As for the bands, we will announce five bands in the april edition of Norway’s Scream Magazine, and of course by a newsletter to all of you. The rest of the bands will be announced throughout the summer and fall. But we’re so excited by our bookings so far, that we’ve decided to throw you all a bone, and presenting the first band for METAL MERCHANTS FESTIVAL 2010:
(THE LORD WEIRD) SLOUGH FEG
Back at the end of the 80′s, heavy metal seemed like a sinking ship, more or less finished with the party, and ready to pass on the alternative rock throne to grunge and its likes. But fortunately not everyone saw that as a great idea. Releasing three demos in the first half of the 90′s, Slough Feg soon became an instant cult classic in the frontline of the campaign of true metal. Now, for the first time, we’re going to see this awesome act on these shores, and alongside other great bands, they’re welcoming you all to the METAL MERCHANTS FESTIVAL 2010!Cheers,
The Sigurd, Weird Ronny and Lord Stian. -
Metal Merchants Festival og Grasrotandelen
Posted on March 6th, 2009 No commentsThe following is only relevant to Norwegian residents.
Så here it is, Metal Merchants og Trond Giske hånd i hånd!
2. SMS: GRASROTANDELEN 993200832 til 2020 (tjenesten er gratis).
3. Internett: grasrotandelen.no eller norsk-tipping.no.
4. Norsk Tipping Mobilspill.Mer informasjon finnes på www.grasrotandelen.no. Her vil du også kunne følge med på hvor mye Grasrotandelene genererer for de enkelte Grasrotmottakerne.
Takk for at du støtter oss via Grasrotandelen!

The past and the future – one giant THANKS to all of you!
Posted on February 7th, 2009 No commentsSo Metal Merchants Festival 2009 is history. But what a great piece of history! We won’t mention names, because people competed in being the best, the nicest and the most motherfucking metal beings the world has ever seen. We’ve had feedback from bands, crew, audience, parents, girlfriends, mothers in law, the owner of the venue, every god damned soul ever affected by heavy metal in Norway, that this was one for the books.
And to be honest, we totally agree. We won’t make this very long, but it goes out to all of you when we say “THANK YOU, HEADBANGERS!” We’ve added a few pics to the site, but if you want to check out even more pictures, look up Audun Nordseth on Facebook, or Red Art on Myspace.
And for the last issue that everyone’s been asking; is there gonna be another Metal Merchants Festival? It’s no secret that we lost some money on this. Not to mention all the work we had to put into it, maybe leaving both girlfriends and jobs behind. Besides that, we really wouldn’t like to have a reputation of giving too much beer and too loud music to metal fans all over. Really, we’d prefer staying home, having a zip of wine, watching Desperate Housewives. Or….? Fuck that, we’ll see you all around for METAL MERCHANTS FESTIVAL II IN 2010!!! TAKE CARE!
